ADE 2024: Erica Synths to Host Workshop and Conference focused on its Bullfrog Synth

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, October 3, 2024 — Erica Synths announced that it will be hosting two special events during ADE 2024 on Saturday, October 19th at ADE Lab. Both events will highlight the company's new. educationally-focused Bullfrog synthesizer. The events are open to ADE attendees with a ADE Pro, Lab or Lab Day Pass, and spots will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Subtractive Synthesis and Creative Process: Bullfrog Synths by Erica Synths (Presentation, 45 minutes)

Hardware connoisseurs .Vril & Kris Vanderheyden will be at ADE Lab to showcase the Bullfrog synthesizer, an innovative desktop instrument designed by Erica Synths and Richie Hawtin. Designed for beginners in sound design, this workshop explores subtractive synthesis, a fundamental method of crafting electronic sounds. Prepare to experience a short showcase and gain insight into the work of subtractive synthesis by two artists who live and breathe everything modular.
Exploring Sound with the Bullfrog Synthesizer (Workshop, 90 minutes)

Discover the world of synthesis in this hands-on workshop with the Bullfrog synthesizer, an innovative instrument by Erica Synths and Richie Hawtin. Designed for beginners in sound design, the workshop explores subtractive synthesis - a fundamental method of crafting electronic sounds. You'll start with the basics of sound synthesis and experiment with the Bullfrog, taking home your own recorded creations. No prior knowledge is needed.
Attendees will learn how to generate and shape electronic sounds by removing certain frequencies, using oscillators, filters, and envelopes to create unique tones. This workshop is for anyone excited to learn about synthesis and explore it in a no-pressure environment, where you can experience the Bullfrog's versatility as both a learning and performance tool.
Attendees should bring:
- Headphones with a 3.5 mm jack connector
- Audio recorder with 1/4 inch cables if they want to take home recording.
This session is designed as a hands-on workshop with limited capacity to enhance creativity and collaboration. On the day of the event, there will be a session sign-up forms readily available at the registration desk near the entrance of het Groene Paleis (Nes, 42) on a first come first served basis. Participants will need a valid ADE Pro, Lab or Lab Day Pass to be able to attend the session!
