Erica Synths Introduces Black 3109 VCF/VCA Eurorack Module
Erica Synths recreates iconic sound of vintage synths with lowpass filter and voltage-controlled amplifier combo
Riga, Latvia, April 29, 2022 — Erica Synths announces its Black 3109 VCF/VCA Eurorack module, a lowpass filter and voltage-controlled amplifier combo. This new module is centered on the AS3109 VCF integrated circuit — a contemporary version of the IR3109 chip found on vintage Roland synths such as the Jupiter series, Juno series and the SH-101.
The 3109 VCF/VCA is Erica Synths' attempt to recreate the iconic sound of these synths, as well as improve on them. The original filters based on IR3109 had several drawbacks, including a volume drop when the resonance is increased. Thus, Erica Synths has added a volume drop compensation as well as a built-in VCA for extended versatility in compact setups. Additionally, 1V/oct tuning is implemented so the module can be used for perfect VCF keyboard tracking and also as a VCO.
Black 3109 VCF/VCA Features
- 24dB/oct lowpass VCF
- Volume drop compensation
- Built-in VCA
- Cutoff level attenuverter
- 1V/oct tracking
The Black 3109 VCF/VCA is available now for €160 EUR (VAT excl). For more information or to purchase, please visit the Erica Synths shop.
